Study Update: From then to now – My journey in BA Fashion Marketing & Journalism

I first started blogging at 17 when I was on a journey to discovering my career within fashion, I used Blogspot as the platform to show what I was working on at college. Originally, I never wanted to go to university. I wanted to work my way up in a job after I had missed out on the chance to attend London College of Fashion.

Now, I am 23 and as it turns out... I’m in my final year at University! You would never had guessed that was coming from what I mentioned 10 seconds ago!

Randomly, I rang up my current University inquiring about availability, after seeing on their website they had clearing places. They asked me a few questions and before I knew it, I had a place as a BA Fashion marketing and journalism student. That seems pretty simple, right? Well, the real work was about to begin…

My first year was not what I thought it would be, I expected lots of partying and going wild, but it was completely opposite. Partly that was due to living at home, although on campus it did not have the ‘student party’ vibe that I thought it would - so at 21, I thought I was done with my chances of partying *crying face*.

I also did not realise that I wouldn’t be choosing my own modules. The preset course content included:

-          Fashion History

-          Journalism History

-          Practical Journalism

-          The Practices of Marketing

In year 1 the grades do not count but I still wanted to do well (basically, I turned into the ultimate geek). I felt like I was studying very little fashion and it was extremely journalism focused. I did not enjoy Journalism history as I had no idea about it... But don't we all have that ONE class?

First year taught me how to step out of my comfort zone and gain contacts, which is a requirement for journalism.

Second year was enjoyable, I gained friendships and confidence (although, I still hate class presentations) and got to choose my modules. Styling and journalism and fashion branding and journalism were my favourite as I got to learn how to be a Stylist, writing for fashion, street style photography and social media in fashion. All which will be so useful in the fashion industry. I experienced things like going to Crown and Magistrates Court to see trials allowing me to gain reporting skills, I got a trip to Paris courtesy of Drapers, invited to the GiambattistaXH&M event and competed in a fashion show!

Third year wasn’t what it’s cracked up to be. Due to the coronavirus it’s all been via zoom and at this point I’m totally ‘ZOOMED’ out! Although the perks are the amount of money saved on travel and I have come up with amazing story ideas.

I got to create my own magazine with a wonderful team, and I came up with the name, @_youngmagazine_ -  check out my articles on page 12 and 34 *squeals with excitement*.

I hope to graduate this year, throw my hat up in the air and get that Instagram pic I’ve been dreaming of without worrying about Covid, #InstagramGoals. This is only just the beginning of my journey into the world of fashion and I can’t wait to share it with you all!

New Shoes, New Blog Header Picture & Polyvore!

Hello Guys! Long time no see, been really busy with college work and all that jazz so haven't really been able to post. Just a few things before I start, if you've never visited my blog before then you won't know the difference but I GOT A NEW BLOG HEADER PICTURE! ... Before it was a rather large picture of myself and now I have replaced it with one of my favourite quotes 'Early Mornings, Big shirts, messy hair, Vogue and coffee' I think that is such a cute picture and probably applies to most of you fashion orientated people out there!! (Please feel free to comment and tell me what you think). Also I have been recently posting some of my post from www.polyvore.com I have been using polyvore for about 6 years now and love it more and more each time, its a creative little site where you can create outfits on a set! Such a cool website and I absolutely love it, so I hope you don't mind me posting those up! Check out some of the sets below and be sure to check out my page: http://leanneelizabeth.polyvore.com/

ANYWAY.... Real reason I am here is for you to check out these lovely pair of shoes I have been eyeing up in New Look  and I finally gave in and brought them! They are the best purchase I have made in a while and they are absolutely gorge!

They are quite high but really comfortable and have a platform and straps! I haven't worn them out yet but I am really looking forward too... I am 18 in a couple of months so I can wear them out then (shows I am well prepared HAHA!) They were £27.99 but used my student discount and got them for £25, because I had a slight suspicion that if I waited to get them on sale they would of sold out of my size because they've already sold out of my size online! But they are gorge and I totally recommend them and come in a variety of colours!

2014 Favourites!

Hello Guys!
Long time no speak! and Happy new year too! Sorry for the lack of blog post but as per usual college has been quite a lot recently. Soon I will be leaving to go to university so its time I had to put my head down! But no worries because I am back today.. with it being the new year I am posting a blogger and youtuber fave... a favourites post! wooo. Let's get started shall we! Oh but I must add I also have a twitter account for my blog now it is: @leanneswardrobe .. please check it out and follow me!

First up is this Lush bath bomb in 'space girl'. This was the first time I've used a Lush bath bomb and I must say its worth it! Although I wish you could use it more than once! It left my skin feeling so soft and it looked so pretty too! The colour and the smell lasted the whole way through my bath, the smell actually reminded me of love heart sweets... mmm soo good!

Second off is this book by blogger and youtuber Zoella! I have wanted this book for so long and I finally got it for christmas! I am so happy to see her, Alfie from the +PointlessBlog and Tanya Burr +Tanya Burr and other Youtubers and bloggers get so far after starting out just like I am. This book is amazing so far and I am not even half way through. I love how some stuff Zoe references to herself such as living in Brighton, stuffering from anxiety and being a blogger, all things that people can relate to! I am not going to give the story away but I recommend it, it's a brilliant book! Well done +Zoella!

I've been buying the small Yankees candles for so long now but I was lucky enough to be gifted a medium size jar in the flavour Vanilla frosting! And let me tell you now IT SMELLS AMAZING! It goes all around the house and I can tell this candles going to last me a while. Defiantly worth the money!

I've been looking for a perfume for ages and I was so eager to get Vera Wangs 'Princess' perfume but I never got the chance too because it's about £30 per bottle! So when I was in Debenhams recently and saw Storm flower by Cheryl Cole (Cheryl Versini Fernandez) I had to smell, honestly hands down this will be my go-to perfume from now on when ever I run out I am going to buy this because it smells gorgeous and the smell lasts forever!! Its got a floral smell to it but fresh at the same time and the bottles absolutely beaut! I got it for a bargain at £15 in the sale too!

I've always been a fan of Victoria secrets spray, so when I got this little set for Christmas I was over the moon. The little bottles are the perfect handbag size and they all smell just as equally as divine! I love them!

Thank you guys for reading! Speak to you soon! And don't forget to check out my twitter!
